How can I see if my website is based on SEEEMS.CMS
There are two easy ways of determining if your website is based on SEEEMS. CMS:
- Enter /seeems after your domain - if the system login appears then you have a SEEEMS.CMS based website
- If you view the HTML code in your website browser, then the code at the top will contain some comment lines
<!-- CMS based on SEEEMS.FRAMEWORK -->
<!-- Make many CMS! Make any CMS! -->
<!-- http://www.seeems.com -->
- In older SEEEMS.CMS based on classic ASP codeing - Enter /admin after your domain then you see the SEEEMS login form
If you find either of these indicators - then your websit is based on SEEEMS.CMS.
Where is the system login form in SEEEMS.CMS?
You find the system login form on any SEEEMS based website by entering /seeems after the domain name, for example:
http://www.seeems.com/seeems
In old SEEEMS versions you fin dthe login by typing /admin after your domain, for example:
http://www.seeems.com/admin
If this does not trigger the login form then your website is not based on SEEEMS.CMS.
Where can I get a new password?
You can retrieve a new password from the system login form, where you will find a Forgot Password link. Follow the dialogue from there. You can find the system login form by adding /seeems to your domain name, for example:
http://www.seeems.com/seeems
If this does not trigger the login form then your website is not based on SEEEMS.CMS.
If your system login form does not contain the Forgot Password logic then you need to get your site updated to the latest SEEEMS.CMS version.
Who can I contact when I have forgotten my username for my website?
If you have forgotten your username and your user is registered with an e-mail address, then you can just use the forgot password logic of the SEEEMS login form for your website by adding /seeemsto your domain. If you instead of entering your username, enter your e-mail address it will send you a new Password just the same - this mail also contains your Username.
If you do not receive the mail, then your user is not registered with an e-mail address. In this case please contact the administrator of your website. Search for a general contact phone number or a webmaster contact in the content of your website. Often the needed information is provided there. If you are the administrator please contact SEEEMS Support.
Send an email to: support@seeems.com or contact SEEEMS Support by phone on +45 73 57 50 60.
Depending on your contract or support agreement with SEEEMS this type of support may not be free.
SEEEMS.CMS offers built in options to create a "Forgot username" logic. This is based on your registered e-mail address. This is only available if it is implemented in a custom login form or other place on your website.
What can I do if my website is not working or is out of order?

Why is SEEEMS spelled with 3 E's?
SEEEMS is an elongation of CMS = SEE + EM + S = SEEEMS which is short for Content Management System = CMS. So SEEEMS.CMS means actually CMS.CMS.
In short this is a description of what SEEEMS.CMS is - it's a framework for building a CMS.
Where can I download plugins for SEEEMS.CMS?
You cannot download plugins for SEEEMS.CMS as it already comes with all components installed. You have more than 400 components available. Some of them do need to be setup in the component properties which may require agreements with third parties for API keys or licences. Using the built in shop components for building an ordering procedure requires an additional licence fee.
Different users have permission to edit my site. How can I find out who last edited an object and when?
If you hover over the object's ID number at the top of the right-hand pane you will see these details.
I cannot see some of the content objects in the list view to the left. How can I show the missing content objects?
At the top of the list view to the left you have three filtering tools. By selecting one or more of the filtering options you can reduce the number of elements shown in the list. The most likely possibility is that you have activated some of the filters. Try and deactivate all filters. Then you will see all objects. You can then reapply filters to reduce the number of shown objects. If this does not help, have a look in the Recycle Bin, found under the System tab, and see if someone has deleted the content by accident. If you still cannot find the content SEEEMS always has an update if your website is hosted on our server.
Why when I click on View in the right hand pane am I taken to a 404 page, (file or directory not found), instead of the page or object?
There are various reasons that this might happen: 1) You have manually typed an incorrect path/address that does not exist. 2) You have changed a page name or maybe the page path in the SEO tab. If so, this page's old address does not exist/function anymore. 3) The object that you are trying to view cannot be displayed directly in FrontEnd. If you find yourself on a 404 page you can either use your browser back button or exit your website and then go back in.
Why does my website suddenly look different in different browsers?
Occasionally, when using different browsers with SEEEMS.CMS, something will not work correctly.
This is because technology develops quickly and various browsers implement new technology in different ways. There can also be issues experienced when the technology is implemented and then viewed on different devices. We will list known bugs here, and we won't list browsers where no bugs have been experienced. Once a bug has been fixed the FAQ will be deleted.
If you experience a bug that is not listed here please contact SEEEMS and let us know, because some bugs do not appear on all combinations of: system, operating system, browser. This is the main reason that we cannot always detect them ourselves.
Bugs can also be caused by poor Internet connectivity between your device and the server, or other infrastructure causes.
Why can't I upload images using the File Manager from SEEEMS.CMS Front End?
In IE9 there is a bug that causes the SEEEMS File Manager to not launch when in FrontEnd. From SEEEMS Version 5.1 onwards we have created a fix for this.
What can you do? If you have an older version of SEEEMS.CMS you can switch your IE9 browser to IE8 mode by typing F12 on your keyboard and selecting 'IE8 Mode' in the IE9 simulation interface. The mode is returned to IE9 mode when you close your browser.
How frequently does this occur? This bug appears in all IE9 browsers using a version of SEEEMS.CMS older than V.5.1.
Why, all of a sudden, does my page with a form on it not load properly? Instead it throws a page with code or tries to start a download. (All browsers)
Sometimes the webhotel stops working with the code that is executed when triggering a form on your website. Typically this results in generating a buggy URL.
What can you do? If this happens you need to contact SEEEMS. We can then restart your webhotel and this will solve the bug. This takes only a few minutes to activate and a few seconds to take effect. This only happens occasionally as all webhotels are restarted automatically once a day anyway.
How frequently does this occur? This bug appears occasionally. Typically it can happen after a planned Windows Update or planned server restart.
How can I find the perfect domain name and how do I buy it?
I have created a complex file structure, but I cannot access some of the sub-folders. I get a server error. What have I done wrong?
There is a limit on the maximum number of characters the file path name can contain. Technically it's 260 characters. When working with it, it is more practical to assume its 4 characters less becayse the drive letter of th epath will take up 4 of these characters fx D://.
This is 256 and is determined by Windows. Remember that if you have folders within folders and images or other content with long names you will soon use up this limit.

I want to add content to a new page. How do I start?
You need to find the default content areas that are on each new page. Simply type [Ctrl]+[A] on the keyboard and they will appear as overlay over your page. You can now long click this area and use the editing tools or right click options to start to enter content.
How can I see every object that is on the page?
There are two options. First, click [Ctrl]+[A]. This shows you, with green highlighting, where every object is, on the page.
You can also use the Edit page icon that is on top left of the Front Panel. This shows exactly what top, same level and sub objects exist on your page and allows you to edit them.
As a third option you can select any object on the page and then use the arrow and PgUp and PgDn keys to navigate the visible content objects.
Why when I am editing or deleting pages am I taken to a 404 page - file or directory not found instead of to the page?
The main reason this happens is because you have tried to edit the name of the active page or delete it. Make sure that you are on a different page to the one that you are trying to edit the name or delete. If you find yourself on a 404 page you can either use your browser back button or exit your website and then go back in.
How can I navigate the website when Front Panel is active?
In order to navigate your content you just click the link you want to use and you can navigate the website as any other user visiting it.
In older versions
In order to navigate the website when FrontPanel is active you need to click any link you want to use within one second after moving your mouse over the link. Some of our users call this a Ninja-Click! If you cannot manage to click the link within a second, instead with one click on the green spot in the Front Panel you can turn off the editing features and then navigate as if you were in the public website view.

Why does hovering content not activate it any more?
Websites updated after August 1st 2014 will no longer support mouse over or hovering objects in order to activate them. We have removed this feature in order to enable using SEEEMS.CMS on touchscreen devices. Touchscreen devices do not respond on mouse over or hover. This feature also works in older versions created since October 2013.
Why has my Prepared content object displayed incorrectly?
There is a known issue concerning Prepared content. If you take your Prepared content and either Add To, or Insert Before there is no problem. If, however, you try to Insert After, and the content is not within a container, it might display in the wrong order. Until this issue is resolved, either use the options identified above to place the Prepared content, or make sure that all of the objects sit within a container, a Box or Row, for example.

How can I link to internal content in SEEEMS.CMS?
What is the easiest way to link to my domain's front page in SEEEMS.CMS?
In SEEEMS.CMS the easiest way to link to your domain's front page is to enter a / (forward slash) in the Link URL property. This will link to your front page even if you move your front page to have a different ID. This will only work though within the same domain. If you have different domains pointing to different parts of your website the front page depends on which domain you are using in the session.

I don't have a login form on my site. How can I login?
All you need to do is to type /seeems after the URL in the address bar and hit enter or refresh and you will be directed to a login screen. If you want to put a login form on your site simply add a login form object in the required place. This is found in the Community section.
When logging in by using the /seeems route, why do I stay on that page after I click login?
If you only have FrontEnd access you will not be able to login to the BackOffice, that's why the BackOffice login stays on the login form. However, you are logged in; you need only to remove the part of the URL after your domain and will then see the FrontEnd and you will be logged in and able to work.
Why, when I paste my username and password into fields in the login form, does the login fail?
When you paste the data from an email or other document you can accidentally copy a space as an additional character at the end or beginning of the username or password. As a space is technically an allowed character in a username or password it is validated as an additional character and therefore you cannot login. If you cannot login by copying and pasting your login credentials then check your username for spaces and count the number of characters in your password, as it is entered encrypted in the login form.
Why does Outlook cut off part of my image in my newsletters?
If your e-mail subscribers use Outlook 2007 or Outlook 2010 to receive your newsletter, they may not get the whole picture. Outlook uses an engine that has a limit on the amount of space an image can use in an email. This process tends to clip or cut off portions of an image in an email and will do this to the upper portion of all images higher than 1728 pixels (approximately 45cms/18ins). So, if your image is 250 pixels higher than the 1728 pixel limit, then that 250 pixel portion of the image will be cut off the top.
Here are some ideas of how to get around this problem.
Which browser should I use to get the best performance of SEEEMS.CMS
Generally we recommend you use the latest stable version of your preferred browser. Updating your browser typically makes your work more effective, secure and you will have the latest technology working. We work with, and test on all of the latest browser versions and we now report back with our findings and recommendations.

Are there minimum requirements for my PC/MAC when working with SEEEMS.CMS?
There are no specific minimum requirements, but we suggest you use the newest hardware and system as possible. SEEEMS.CMS performance is better on systems which allow you to use the newest browsers. Windows Vista and Mac OS X older than 10.6 will not allow you to install the newest browsers of any browser suppliers and will not support all features even if the newsest browser is installed. The option to use the graphic card for rendering of the sites will have a particular influence. This means that if your PC/MAC has a poor graphic card the performance of SEEEMS.CMS will be significantly slower.
What influence does the Internet connection speed have on the performance of SEEEMS.CMS?
The faster your Internet connection is the better SEEEMS.CMS performs.
Minimum requirements: 2Mbps download, 0.5 Mbps upload.
Best performance: Greater than 5Mbps download and upload.
How fast can visitors load my website?
SEEEMS.CMS has optimised the loading time of all sites managed in the system to be as short as possible. The sites only load the parts that need to be shown and unnecessary code is not loaded. Load times will normally be faster than 1 second on a normal ADSL line. Of course if you place many media objects or large images on the page you will create a website that loads more slowly.
Loading time also dpends on the general data load on the hosting server, if your website is load time critical for your business, please contact us, because we can do somthing about it by moving the site to a virtual or dedicated server for improved loading times during bursts of visitors to your site.
The mailform on my website sends me blank mail although I have applied validation that requires data to be entered in the form. How can this happen?
If you have forms on your website sending mail then from time to time you will experience receipt of blank mail, for example mails with no entered data from your form. This can in some degree be avoided by applying required field validation or advanced validation to your button actions requiring content or even requiring specific content. However, if the client visiting your page has deactivated JavaScript in his browser then he will be able to send the form without being validated because the validation is done client side using JavaScript. Receiving these mails is not dangerous, only annoying. However, technically we can do nothing about this. Please just delete the blank mails.
