If you want to copy a lot of objects and complex content the whole process will take some time to complete. That's why large structures are copied in a background process in SEEEMS.CMS. Meanwhile you can continue working.
In SEEEMS.CMS you can copy and paste or duplicate any structure of content from simple boxes with a few sub objects to complete websites with thousands of objects included. Some copying processes therefore take time and sometimes can in fact take a considerable time.
Please take into consideration that you can copy many objects only when there is a parent object and you want to copy all of the sub objects inside that parent object. There is no such a possibility yet to select several objects at once and copy them.
Let’s say we have the following structure:
If we want to copy only the Header and Image object at once there is no such a possibility. We have to copy them separately.
If you copy an object that contains Sub Objects all of the Sub Objects will be copied also. There is an option to Paste Sub Objects only - the Main Object (Parent Object) will be not pasted. Or you can paste only the Main Object without its Sub Objects. And of course the basic pasting – main and sub objects will be pasted all together.
There are two basic copying procedures:
- Synchronous copying (this happens in real time and you can see the result instantly)
- Asynchronous copying (this happens in the background as a low priority procedure)
Both procedures work both Front End and BackOffice in the same way. Both copying procedures keep the complete structure of the originals in the copy. Links and navigation objects within the newly created copy are updated so you don’t have to worry about them. As long as you use the SEEEMS.CMS ID-link logic you will find that the occurrence of broken or incorrect links is extremely rare.
